During middle and high school, children will have all of their permanent teeth, with the final teeth coming in and the arrival of the molars known as "12-year-old molars." In addition, skeletal growth will also gradually slow down, making this the best time to begin final orthodontic treatment, and it is known as the "golden age" of orthodontic treatment!

The treatment period is relatively shorter than starting treatment as an adult, and the condition of the teeth and gums is healthier, making this the best time to receive orthodontic treatment.

This is also the perfect time for children who have completed the first stage of treatment, which supports their growth around elementary school age, to begin the final, full-scale second stage of treatment.

Although junior and senior high school students are busy with club activities, school life, and studying for exams, there are many benefits to completing orthodontic treatment at this time. For example, having beautifully aligned teeth that children can be confident about for important life events in the future, such as coming-of-age ceremonies, job hunting, and weddings, will give them great self-confidence.

In countries where orthodontic treatment is widely practiced, such as the United States, it is standard for treatment to be completed during middle or high school, and recently this same idea has been spreading in Japan as well.

For the sake of your child's future smile, we hope you will take advantage of this opportunity to proactively consider orthodontic treatment with your family.
